Ingrid

I love to learn about people and their stories. I think that is why I enjoy traveling to new places. I have lived in 4 different states: Wisconsin, Iowa, Arizona, and Florida. I have degrees in elementary education and occupational therapy. I’m an active person and like to take good care of myself so I have energy for our son and the next little one that joins us. I have a strong faith in God that I lean on to guide my life. I have a good community of friends. Some have children and some don’t, and some have adopted children. We like to host people in our home and make it a welcoming place. We have hosted several international students from the local university. It has been a fun way to get to know another culture without having to travel. In my extended family I have a twin sister and a younger sister. My parents are divorced, but I have a good relationship with both of them and get along well with my dad’s wife and my mom’s boyfriend.

I love being around people. I have friends that I am still good friends with since childhood. I am close with my family who consists of 3 brothers and my parents. My brothers are married and have 7 children between them so having a lot of nieces and nephews is fun for our son. I’m a big kid at heart, so I usually join in on the fun too! I used to work for the city as a firefighter/paramedic, so I have a heart for wanting to help people in need. I have a deep faith in God, which I rely on to guide my life. I like having friends and family over and make them feel welcome at our home.

Hello! We are Danny and Ingrid. Thanks for being open to adoption and taking the time to look at our profile. We value our relationship with God, family, and each other, and are excited to share our unconditional love with another child. We have been married now for 10 years and have been blessed with our son, Steven, through adoption. We look forward to growing our family and providing a sibling for Steven. We want you to know we will unconditionally love and support your child. We will encourage and equip your child to try new things and to reach his or her full potential. Ingrid is a stay-at-home mom and occasionally picks up shifts as an occupational therapist assistant. This allows her to dedicate her time to raising this child by providing safety, exciting learning experiences, and play dates with other friends who are positive influences. Danny has a flexible work schedule which also allows him to be available for more family time. We will both be around to instill good values while also being a whole lot of fun! Lastly, we want you to know that we are open to a relationship with you after he or she is born. We are willing to navigate with you what that might look like, if that is something you desire.

Open adoption

We want you to know if you want an open adoption we will put in the effort to create a relationship. We know the story of your child starts with you and we want them to be able to know about you and where they came from. We will work to foster their knowledge of their identity and honor any special traditions or cultural celebrations and history of your child. We are willing to send pictures and updates so you can feel more connected to your child’s life. We are willing to work with you to figure out a level of communication that will feel right.

Education

We want you to know that we will provide a good education for your child. Being educated is very important to us as we both went onto further education after high school. We will support your child in their dreams, but want to give them a strong foundation with good schooling first. We live in Wisconsin and our city has good public schools and some good private schools as well. We will have a college fund started when your child joins our family so they will have the opportunity for further education whether they choose to go to a trade/technical school or a 4 year college. We want you to know we will support them so they can figure out their best path.

Child care and community

We believe a child’s initial years can greatly impact their lives so that is why Ingrid plans to stay-at-home in order to provide a positive influence. We have a good community of friends, so your child will have other kids to play with growing up and be socialized well. This way we can keep your child safe and well loved in those early years before starting school. Our church has play groups that Ingrid will attend as well as knowing other moms who stay home to raise their children so it will be a healthy time to foster exploration and play in the younger years.
