Our Favorite Adoption Month Stories

We have run by so many incredible National Adoption Month stories the past few weeks…tales of 30 children being adopted at one time, and couples building their family by providing multiple children with a home, all in one big celebration. As this is what we do and live for, it is beyond thrilling to see the entire nation getting involved, and, most importantly, to know that so many children are becoming a part of their forever families.

Just in case some of it has passed you by, here’s a round-up of some of our favorite National Adoption Month stories. We’d love to hear yours if you have one!

More than 30 families adopted more than 50 children (!!) at a Austin Adoption Day in Austin, TX. Dad to two new little girls now, Caleb McFadden said, ““Adoption is important because there are so many kids out there who don’t have positive role models, and I think every child deserves that. It’s not like they asked to be in this world, but they’re here.”

A beautiful story from the perspective of an oldest sibling on her family’s adoption of two younger children: a brother and sister. So rarely do we get to hear the perspective of the new siblings…Ali’s thankfulness is palpable and the genuineness of her love is truly inspiring.

Go Nevada!!! 102 children were placed for adoption this week during Clark County’s 12th annual adoption day. This record-breaking day marked 463 adoptions this year for the Clark Country Department of Family Services. What an incredible number…especially when so many of those are older children who face such a difficult time getting adopted.

Proud of this event in our home state, Iowa, that will see 16 children being adopted!

Nearly 100 children had their adoptions finalized at the Ontario Convention Center, becoming apart of 95 different families. The best part? 22 sets of siblings were adopted, “the highest number of siblings adopted since the finalization event has been taking place.”  The photo gallery shows happy tears and smiles all around!

In just an hour and a half, this couple went from being single, to married, to parents of their new adopted daughter, Meseret. What an amazing set of commitments to make!!
