I'm a part-time writer for a digital marketing agency - which means that I work from home three days a week to create website content for nationally recognized companies. In my free time, I read, cook, rock climb (which I love, even though I'm mildly afraid of heights), hike, do yoga, pilates, and spin, and I make natural home and body care products - like lotions, salves, laundry detergent, etc. And I'm pretty good at hula hooping, too. :)

  • Kind, intelligent, funny
As a fire captain and paramedic, I help people on their worst days - and I love it. But I also loved what I did before - which was teach middle school math and science through woodworking and farming, and own a custom furniture business. When I'm not working, which is pretty often since I work two days, then am home for four, I still love to build, but I also read, run, go mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing, hiking, and cook. And although Tina and I are pretty active, we also love quiet days at home - watching movies, cooking and generally laying low.

Dear Birthmother

Dear Friend, You are brave and kind, generous and loving. And we think that entrusting your baby to someone else is an amazing act of selflessness. We cannot tell you how honored we would be to welcome your baby into our home - and our life. And although your little one will call us ''Mom and Dad,'' they'll always know that there's another soul who loves them just as much as we do.

Reason to Adopt

Over the years we tried to have a child - to no avail. And although there are other avenues for us to explore, adoption just feels right. It's what we want, and our family and friends are so excited for us and supportive. We have a great community of people who will love us all. Whether we have an open, semi-open or closed adoption (all are welcome), we want our child to always know that there's another soul who loves him or her as much as we do. In addition, in our family, we plan to honor your child's (our child's) heritage - no matter how it may be different than ours. Through food, travel, tradition and reading, we can help our child understand his or her background, culture and history - and get to know all the facets that make him or her so special. (You can even share your favorite recipe with us so our baby can also grow up eating some of the same dishes you liked as a kid.)

About Us

To quote Leslie Knope from ''Parks and Recreation'' - I love him, and I like him. Brett and I have been married 25 years. About a month after meeting through a friend at a coffee shop, we were engaged. And six months later we were married... before finishing our college degrees. In the years that followed, we finished those degrees and built careers. We grew together. Took an interest in each other's hobbies. Supported one another through challenges. Traveled the world, had great adventures, and made friends near and far. And although we've spent decades together - it seems like we met only yesterday.

Our Home

We live in a mountain town in Arizona. It's sweet and charming - and has free events at the town square (which we can walk to) all year long. Our house was built in 1910 and was completely renovated (mostly by us) when we bought it in 2018. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and sits on 1/3 acre. We have boulders and trees, a big vegetable garden and an elementary school right next door. It's idyllic, truly. And we love everything about it. In addition, we love the people in our neighborhood. We have many friends (some with young kids) who live within walking distance to our house, and family scattered about who are all just a short drive away.

Our life and Adventures

We love our life, our town, and our people. We love to travel to see old friends and new places. And we can't wait share them all with our little one. From skiing in Colorado to surfing in Canada, exploring New York to hiking in Scotland and camping at the Grand Canyon. We truly can't wait to find out what our child's passions will be so we can all grow together and help them become who they are. And although we love to travel, what we really love most is home. It's a place where all are welcome, where there is respect for humans, animals and nature, it's a place that's safe, where kindness prevails, where laughter rings out loud, and where love always lives. It's also a place where we are imperfect, where we try and fail... and try and succeed, where we plan adventures, and where we rest our heads, nourish our bodies and soothe our souls. And we can't wait to bring our baby home - to the place we love most. As a side note: One of our favorite things that we do at home is have pizza night every Thursday. It's a tradition that started when we first got married, and have kept to this day. Sometimes we have people over for pizza night, but usually it's just us. And while the pizza has gotten better (and is now 100% homemade), we always start the evening the same - with a cocktail, mocktail or fizzy water on our deck, then pizza and a movie at home. It's a pretty great way to spend our Thursday night, and we can't wait to share the tradition with our son or daughter.
