I graduated college with a Business degree and work for an HVAC company. I am involved in a bowling league as well as a softball league, which is how I stay active and keep in touch with friends. My wife and I are very close with my family and often meet with my parents, sisters and extended family for dinner.

I was born and raised in Illinois with two brothers and two sisters and a very large extended family. I grew up playing sports, doing musicals and babysitting. I graduated college with a Communications degree and spent my first ten years of my career working in early childcare. I switched gears two years ago and now work for a software company in technical support. I am in a bowling league, love biking and listening to music. I am very close with my family and travel to Illinois as often as possible to see my immediate family as well as dozens of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Dear Birthmother

We appreciate you taking the time to get to know us. We cannot begin to image how difficult this decision must be for you. We both were brought up by loving and caring parents who shaped us into the adults we are today. Our parents are just the beginning of the incredible support system we have as we look to start our family. Our siblings are just as excited as we are to welcome a new baby into the family, as is our adorable niece, Brooklyn. We are lucky enough to have adopted cousins in both of our families, with parents who have been very supportive and prepared us for this important decision to begin our own adoption journey. We know with their experience and guidance, we can create a beautiful family. We cannot wait to be able to experience the joys and challenges of parenting. Our goal is to love and raise a child in a positive and healthy environment, while teaching them the values and traditions from all of our cultures. Thank you for considering us as you look for the best possible fit for you and your baby.

Reason to Adopt

We have always known that we wanted to have children. From the beginning of our relationship, we knew that adoption was the right choice for us. The support from our family and friends has been overwhelming as we came to that decision. We hope that we can take the love and encouragement that our parents have given us throughout our lives to build our own family.

We are both from very close families. Because we live near Alex's family, we get together with them often for birthdays, holidays and football Sundays. We are very close with Alex's sisters, Megan and Taylor. While working at the childcare center, Colleen was able to work along side both of them. Alex has many cousins who are all starting their families as well, so there are plenty of kids playing at family gatherings. For major holidays and as often as we can in between, we travel to Illinois to visit Colleen's family. Colleen's brothers and brother-in-laws love watching sports and golfing with Alex. Colleen loves watching movies, singing and going out to eat with her sisters, Katie and Lindsay. We are so lucky to be an aunt and uncle to our beautiful niece, Brooklyn who is three. She keeps us on our toes and loves playing dress up and coloring. When we are in Illinois, we usually end up seeing several of Colleen's aunts, uncles and cousins as well. Our families are extremely supportive of our decision to adopt and have shown such wonderful example of how to be loving, caring parents.

We love to be involved in group activities. We also believe that it is important for us to have activities that we can do together as well as ones we can have for ourselves. We are in a weekly bowling league together with a group of friends from college. Alex is on two softball teams and golfs a few times a month in the summer, while Colleen is in a volleyball league. We also love taking walks and riding our bikes whenever the weather is nice. When the weather is poor, we love to play board games, especially with friends. We enjoy all of these activities because it keeps us involved, active and social, which we think is extremely important to teach our child.

We have been lucky enough to travel to some of our favorite places together over the last 13 years. We have been to Las Vegas several times with friends and family. Alex earned a cruise 3 years in a row to the Bahamas for being one of the top sales reps in his company. For our 5 year anniversary this year, we drove to Iowa for a weekend away. Every year we drive to Detroit for Colleen's family reunion, where we get to see people from all over the country. This year, we will be renting a cabin with Alex's family in northern Wisconsin. Last year, we drove from Wisconsin to Toronto for our first big road trip, which is something we hope to do more often in the future as a family.
